Lifetime coverage applies to eligible products and components. Coverage periods, ownership requirements and exclusions vary by product.

Protection starts with knowing your product.

The essentials

Long-term coverage, with clear terms.

01

For the eligible homeowner

Lifetime generally means for as long as the original purchaser owns and lives in the home where the product was installed. Other ownership, rental, multi-family and commercial situations may have shorter coverage or exclusions.

02

Specific to your product

Glass, finishes, screens, frames and hardware can have different coverage periods—even within one product. The applicable ProVia warranty for your product and purchase governs.

03

A manufacturer’s warranty

ProVia determines whether a claim is covered and the remedy under its terms. This page summarizes that protection; it does not create or expand a Merrifield installation or labor warranty.

Signet®, Ascent™ & Legacy™

Lifetime limited coverage on eligible door and sidelite slabs, with separate terms for glass, frames, finishes and accessories.

Including Spectrum™ & DuraGuard components

Aluminum storm doors & windows

Lifetime limited basic-unit coverage, with specific protection for the baked enamel finish, eligible glass and selected screens.

Hardware & labor

Most other hardware and handle mechanical defects have a 1-year term. Handle finish coverage varies by finish, including lifetime and 10-year terms. Replacement labor is generally the homeowner’s responsibility; for a qualifying defective aluminum storm door unit, ProVia offers the original purchaser a $25 installation credit during the first 3 years.

Siding, soffit & eligible accessories

Super Polymer vinyl siding

Lifetime limited, non-prorated coverage for the eligible original owner, including labor and materials for covered manufacturing defects.

See coverage details

Original-owner coverage

Listed manufacturing defects include peeling, rotting, blistering, rusting, flaking, chipping, cracking, corrosion and termite consumption. Color Keeper anti-fade protection applies only to the original owner, subject to the card’s measured-fade standard and normal-weathering exclusions. ProVia chooses repair, replacement or a refund under the warranty.

Hail is different

Report hail damage to your homeowner’s insurer first. To the extent the damaged product is not covered by insurance, ProVia’s limited hail warranty supplies replacement for the damaged portion. Hail-related labor and other expenses remain the homeowner’s responsibility.

Transfer & special coverage

Eligible transfers receive prorated coverage up to 50 years from the original installation, not a new lifetime term. ProVia must receive the required written transfer notice within 30 days of title transfer. Anti-fade and CedarMAX energy-savings coverage do not transfer. The card also describes a separate, conditional first-year CedarMAX energy-savings benefit.

Claim deadline

All claims under this siding warranty must be reported to ProVia within 60 days of discovering the defect. Allow inspection before repairs begin. Multi-family coverage is prorated; non-residential applications are excluded.

A separate 20-year door warranty

24-gauge steel & Vantage™ fiberglass

These basic door and sidelite slabs have a 20-year limited warranty—not a lifetime slab warranty.

See coverage details

Door & glass

Eligible slabs are covered against shrinking, warping, splitting, cracking and delamination for 20 years, subject to installation and finishing conditions. Insulated glass has a 10-year term. White internal-blind units have a 20-year term; colored internal-blind units have a 10-year term. Glass breakage is excluded.

Other components

Factory paint finishes and window trim have 5-year terms. Frame coverage varies by material, protection and installation, with some eligible composite/frame components carrying lifetime coverage and others shorter terms. Hardware and accessories also have separate limits. These component benefits do not turn the basic door warranty into a lifetime warranty.

Does the warranty include replacement labor?

The window and door cards generally place replacement installation labor and transportation from the dealer to your home on the homeowner. The storm-door card includes a limited $25 installation credit for qualifying claims in the first 3 years. The vinyl siding warranty is different: covered manufacturing-defect remedies include labor and materials under its terms, but its special hail coverage excludes labor.

What kinds of damage are excluded?

Common exclusions include improper installation, misuse, inadequate maintenance, unauthorized modifications, building movement and certain weather or accident damage. Condensation caused by indoor humidity is not itself a window or door defect. Window and storm-product caulking is maintenance, not a covered component. Specific glass-breakage and siding hail provisions are exceptions with their own conditions; read your product’s card.

Can coverage transfer when I sell my home?

Certain basic window, patio, entry and storm-door unit warranties allow one transfer with an online submission within 30 days. Siding has its own 30-day written-notice requirement and a 50-year prorated schedule measured from original installation. Transfer rights do not necessarily extend to every component or benefit. Confirm the rules for your exact product before the deadline.

Do I need to register?

ProVia encourages registration, and we recommend keeping a copy of the confirmation. The supplied window and door cards say failure to register does not by itself remove your rights if you can reasonably prove the purchase date and installation location. Some benefits, including specified glass-breakage provisions, refer to properly registered units. Ownership transfers have separate notice requirements.

How do I care for my products?

Follow the care instructions in your warranty card. Keep drainage paths and weep holes clear, inspect caulking and weatherstripping, clean and maintain hardware, and address moisture promptly. Use the product-specific cleaning instructions rather than assuming the same cleaners suit every finish.
